The last Saturday in March signals that the annual Ilkley Grand National Time Trial is on the calendar. Just about half a Scott Trial for just £17 entry fee for the Full Monty three lapper or £14 for the two lap all moorland Clubman dash.

This event is adult only. Entries will be checked for validity. Maximum starting number is 60.

Thereb is no need to go flat-out either as the results centre on the average of the fastest ten finishers in each class. The time factor is a mark a minute penalty over standard time.

The cut-off is one hour over standard time. Ruling TSR 22b (no stop) applies and all sections must be attempted.

The entire course is on private land, and overseen by travelling marshals. Course cutting earns exclusion. Also, National Parks inspectors and officials checking S.S.S.I. sites on the trial route will be watching and videoing the trial.

Regulations are now out. The trial has run for 85 years and Ilkley Motor Club celebrate their hundredth year in motor sport.

Trials legends Malcolm Rathmell and Sammy Miller are past winners along with the late Bradford rider Geoff Broadbent, who dominated the trial in the immediate Post-War years.
